RESCHOOL is a Colorado-based nonprofit organization that believes that learning happens everywhere. When young people experience a variety of opportunities that they drive, they THRIVE. We know inequities exist in our educational system both in and outside of schools. We work alongside a variety of people to address these inequities so all young people have the resources to access the learning experiences they choose.
RESCHOOL started as an initiative of the Donnell-Kay Foundation in 2013 before becoming a nonprofit in 2018.
All young people have full access to communities, opportunities, and resources to live the lives they want to lead.
Create an equitable education system where learning that happens everywhere is fully accessible to all young people.
At RESCHOOL, we know that to realize a world where all young people and families can thrive, we must align in intentional and equity-centered efforts that span a variety of stakeholders across all levels: individual, community, and systemic. To come closer to realizing our mission, we are in a constant process of deepening our understandings of, relationships with, and movement towards creating more belonging, equity, and justice in our work as we commit ourselves toward more equitable futures. We emphasize continuously learning and unlearning biases and processes that influence how we orient ourselves to the work of cultivating ecosystems that honor the dignities, histories, and current experiences of our constituents by first examining ourselves.
Our values are the compass that guides us toward defining how we work together as a team and how we work alongside our broader communities and stakeholders in service of expansive learning opportunities for all families and young people.
We identify and allocate resources (information, money, time and networks) in ways that create more accessibility, possibility and opportunity for individuals and communities who have been systematically marginalized.
We cultivate and sustain respectful and dignified relationships with individuals and communities in ways that honor our interconnectedness and open doors to opportunity for young people.
We recognize and nurture the historical context, holistic and unique needs of individuals and communities in our ecosystems and believe that their lived experiences and aspirations matter.
We prioritize and uplift the ideas and perspectives of our partners and use co-design strategies to advance community solutions at the local, state and national levels.
We build upon and respond to community-based needs and movements by leveraging our power and resources in ways that create more avenues for structural and systemic changes within broader learning ecosystems.
