Emily Puetz, Learning Architect

As ReSchool Colorado's Learning Architect, Emily helps to build the nuts and bolts of a new learner-centered system. Emily is passionately committed to transforming educational systems and developing educational leaders who are equipped to adapt to the changing needs of our students, our communities, and our world. She has spent 20+ years working on all sides of the learning continuum – as a classroom teacher, district administrator, researcher, business entrepreneur, and charter school designer, and in a variety of cities – Chicago, Boston, Minneapolis, and in smaller communities – Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Savannah, Georgia and Eden Prairie, Minnesota.  As an entrepreneur, Emily worked across 35 school districts in Minnesota delivering keynote presentations, leading training and facilitating problem-solving on issues related to leadership, strategy, and change. Wanting to improve the quality of schools within the city she lived and loved, Emily spent several years as the Chief Academic Officer of the Minneapolis Public Schools. Before leaving Minnesota to move to Colorado, she led a project to redesign the governance structure of Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of St. Paul/Minneapolis. Emily holds both a Bachelors and a Masters degree from the University of Notre Dame as well as a Masters degree from the Humphrey Institute at the University of Minnesota. Her dream is to build and implement an education system that serves students who have been marginalized or underserved by the current one.

"We are shifting to self-organising systems, where learning is an emergent phenomenon.”
